Pregnancy Cravings Post Pregnancy

I had some strange cravings when I was pregnant. Like coke. I am a NC native and we drink Pepsi. That's just how it goes. At least for me. So it was very strange that I craved coke when I was pregnant. The thought of Pepsi sickened me. So I drank coke. Well, Kyla and I shared a coke everyday at work. I didn't ever want a whole coke, so I would drink my fill and Kyla would have the rest. That's how best friends roll.

So imagine my surprise when Scott slurped up the stuff at dinner the other night. Pitched a fit (they are ever increasing in frequency) when I wouldn't give him any more. I tried Pepsi the other day. It was a no go. I'm a coke girl forever and always now.

Another strange craving I had while pregnant was Bojangles. I had tried it first in high school and didn't really like it. Whenever my normal lunch buddies said they were going there, I usually did something else. After high school, my first roommate loved Bojangles and wanted to eat there all the time. So I had it again a couple times and then just stopped getting food but still went to hang out. Or they were nice and did drive thru and we came back to our place. It was less than a mile away from our apartment. While pregnant, I think I had it once a week when I was living in Raleigh. Husband doesn't like Bojangles either too much so I was cut off when I moved back to Savannah. But lately, I have been having phantom pregnancy cravings for Bojangles. I caved on Election Day. I was starving, on my way to work and didn't have time to pack my lunch b/c I left early to go vote. It was the only restaurant on my side of the road the whole way to work. (Stupid Savannah medians) I pulled in and one chicken biscuit combo later, I was on my way to work.

Except, as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, Scott started getting all excited. I order and he is in the back babbling like a crazy man. I get my food and he starts making his little hunger noises and smacking his lips. This happened the rest of the way to work and didn't stop until I gave him a fry. He then ate all of them. ALL OF MY FRIES! Then he pitched a fit when they were all gone. I wish I had gotten a picture b/c it was hilarious. He had fry seasoning all over his face and hands. He actually started licking his fingers. And while as I was eating my chicken biscuit, I thought, "I really don't like this but I want more." I guess we'll see. The booger may force me to get him more Bojangles.

And lastly, spicy foods. I am a mild salsa is too hot for me kinda gal. Except, I craved spicy all during my pregnancy. Luckily, heartburn wasn't too much of a factor until the last few weeks. I still like my food a little spicy and I was having some Spicy Chicken Gumbo soup the other day and Scott always has to eat whatever mom is eating so I gave him some. I thought he wouldn't like it b/c it was a little on the almost too spicy for me side but he loved it. Ate almost all of it that was left. Pitched a fit when it was gone.

This boy never ceases to amaze me.

Anybody else crave things they didn't like while pregnant? And did it carry over?

I will have to let you know if it "carries over" but, so far...

1) Pepsi (not Coke)
2) McDonalds' Chicken Nuggets
3) Fruit -- any kind

And I'm the same way with spicy foods. I used to hate them but, the other day I put chill peppers in my spagetti sauce....Go figure.

Hmm...I never thought of it before but, now that you mention it
*I loved strawberries with Lorelei, ice cream, cheesecake, shakes were the best...she loves them now
*I had to have a bowl of cereal at night when I was pregnant with both and they both can eat cereal any time for any meal
*With Spencer it was banana splits, I had one everyday for a month I swear, that and taco bell and subway (there were only 3 places to eat near that job)
